A sparkling wine that can be toasted and enjoyed daily.

Gornja Radgona has been known for centuries as a place for fairs and sparkling wine. There are two wine cellars in the town, aimed at producing high quality sparkling wines. Vineyards are also planted in the municipality along the most beautiful slopes and ridge hills, which give the landscape a particularly beautiful appearance.

We decided to take you right in the heart of region, where sparkling wine has been produced for centuries.

Detailed Tour Programme

Departure in the morning and drive to wine growing hills - Slovenske gorice, to Kocbek Oil Mill in Stara Gora. Kocbek oil mill boasts a long tradition of pumpkin oil production and strives for top quality in its work. A guided tour and a presentation of the Oil Mill, followed by a tasting pumpkin seeds and dishes.

Drive to Gornja Radgona, the city of fairs and sparkling wine. First, the route will lead us to the Dom Penine , a tasting room of the Radgon Cellar, created in 2012, when the Radgona Cellar celebrated 160 years of producing Golden sparkling wine from Radgona. Guided tour of the wine cellar, and wine tasting.

After the sparkling wine tasting, we will climb the Castle of Gornja Radgona, which has been mentioned as early as the 12th century. Until the Second World War, castle changed many owners, but today the castle is privately owned and wonderfully restored. Guided tour of the castle and walk through beautifully arranged rooms.

After visiting castle, we will drive to Frangež Sparkling Wine House , which offers selected wines and a wide selection of sparkling wines that have been produced for many years. More than 10 types of sparkling wine are produced in the wine cellar, from dry to sweet, which will satisfy any sparkling wine lover. Guided tour of the sparkling wine cellar and a 207-year-old wine press, followed by tasting of 5 samples of sparkling wine, together with bread and cheese.

We will conclude our wine sparkling experience at the Fleisinger Tourist Farm, in Spodnje Ivanjci, which was proclaimed in 2007 as "Best Homestead" of the year. The farm is exclusively focused on viticulture, agriculture and tourism on the farm. They produce a wide range of award-winning white wines, and all lovers of sweeter sparkling wine will be satisfied. Traditional dinner from Prlekija, followed by wine tasting (if desired).

Full of wonderful impressions in the town of fairs and sparkling wines, we will slowly make our way towards home.
