The Jeruzalem Wine Region in Slovenia is a hidden gem renowned for its stunning landscapes and exceptional wines. Located in the northeastern part of the country, within the broader region of Styria (Štajerska), Jeruzalem is a picturesque area characterized by its rolling hills, terraced vineyards, and charming villages.
The region’s unique microclimate, with warm days and cool nights, creates the perfect conditions for producing high-quality wines, particularly aromatic whites. Jeruzalem is especially famous for its Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and the indigenous Šipon (Furmint) variety. The wines from this area are known for their elegance, freshness, and vibrant acidity.
In addition to its wine, Jeruzalem is steeped in history and legend. The area gets its name from the Crusaders who, enchanted by the beauty and fertility of the land, named it after the biblical city of Jerusalem. Visitors to Jeruzalem can not only enjoy world-class wine tastings but also explore historic churches, medieval castles, and traditional local inns, all set against a backdrop of breathtaking vineyard views.
This region offers a unique blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and winemaking excellence, making it a must-visit destination for wine lovers and travelers seeking an authentic Slovenian experience.
Immerse yourself in the world of Jeruzalem, Slovenia’s top wine region, where fine wines, stunning vineyards, and authentic local cuisine await. Join Lucy, an expert tour guide and passionate wine enthusiast, for an exclusive journey through Jeruzalem’s rolling hills.

Yes, absolutely. I offer pick-up from your hotel and return transportation, so there’s no need to
worry about finding a pick-up location.
It depends on the start of the tour and the wine region we’re visiting. Usually, the pick-up time is
between 8:30 and 9:45 AM.
My daily public tours are limited to 9 guests, as this allows for a more personalized wine
experience. I don’t offer tours for more than 10 guests.
It depends on the wine region we’re visiting and the traffic. Usually, you'll be back at the hotel
between 7:00 and 8:00 PM.
For small groups of up to three guests, I use Kia Ceed. For larger groups, up to 8 people I use
Renault Trafic Passenger.
Lucy, wine tour guide and wine lover. To find more about me, please visit the About me page.
My wine tours cover all costs, except for personal expenses and insurance. This includes: tour
organization, my services, transport to and from your hotel, lunch with wine pairing, and all wine
tastings at the wineries we visit.
Yes, all the restaurants I work with are well-prepared to accommodate various dietary
restrictions or other special requests. It’s best to give me at least 24 hours' notice so I can make
the necessary arrangements for you.
You only need to bring your camera, as the Slovenian wine regions are very picturesque, and
perhaps a pen and notebook if you'd like to take notes during the wine tastings.
I highly recommend wearing something comfortable and casual. The temperature in wine cellars
is usually cooler, between 55°F and 57°F (12°C to 14°C), so layering is a good idea.
Comfortable walking shoes are also better than sandals.
Currently, I offer three different wine tours: Jeruzalem wine tour on Fridays, Vipava
Valley wine tour on Saturdays and Haloze wine tour on Sundays. On the remaining days, I’m available for private wine tours.
My wine tours take place in all weather conditions – I never let the weather affect the enjoyment
of a great wine tour. In case of bad weather, we simply spend more time indoors, in wine cellars,
tasting and learning about wine. When the weather is nice, we stay outdoors, take photos, and
stop at various viewpoints.
Right now the only option is to book through our secure online booking system. You'll get a confirmation email once your booking is confirmed. This should only take a few minutes.
Yes, absolutely! In fact, it’s highly encouraged, as some wines are only available directly at the
wineries. Many of the wineries also offer international shipping, so you can have the wines
delivered straight to your home.
Currently I only organize one day wine tours to different wine regions across Slovenia.
